Meet Ghosthub

Open your tmux, Herdr, and Zellij sessions in one native Mac app. Work locally or over SSH, switch between running sessions, and add Git worktrees when you want a separate checkout for each branch.

Your multiplexer keeps its panes, history, key bindings, and running programs. Ghosthub finds sessions and reconnects when SSH drops.

    Your sessions in one place

    Find tmux, Herdr, and Zellij sessions under each host in the sidebar. Select one to open it, or create a new session with the group's plus button. Projects and their worktrees appear alongside them.

    Close a terminal and its session keeps running. Ending a session requires a separate confirmation. Explore session behavior.

    Keep an eye on running tmux sessions

    Expand a sidebar preview to see a tmux session without switching to it. Efficient keeps a still image; Live refreshes up to four inactive previews. Always Live opens and previews discovered tmux sessions on macOS and Linux hosts automatically. It requires tmux 3.4+ and uses more system resources and SSH connections.

    One view across Mac and SSH hosts

    Add a machine using its SSH address or an alias from your OpenSSH configuration. You can also discover running exe.dev VMs. Ghosthub shows login prompts and reconnects after ordinary network interruptions.

    Drag host headers in the sidebar or move Local Mac and SSH hosts in Settings. Both views share the saved order. See Reorder hosts.

    Project context when you want it

    Register a repository to create tmux-backed worktrees from branches or GitHub pull requests. Worktree rows summarize live tmux window counts, while native tabs use readable project and worktree names. You do not need Git to use tmux, Herdr, or Zellij sessions.

    Pull-request imports need Git 2.42 or newer and the GitHub CLI on the Mac or Linux host that owns the project.

    Expand a worktree to see staged, modified, and untracked files without opening its terminal. To open the whole project together, choose Open All Worktrees as Tabs from its context menu.

    Find your next session quickly

    Search sessions, hosts, projects, worktrees, settings, and common actions from the Command Palette instead of navigating the sidebar by hand.

    Build your command center

    Use independent macOS windows and tabs for different tmux, Herdr, or Zellij sessions, then hide each sidebar when the terminal should fill the frame. Jump directly between native tabs with Command-1 through Command-8, or use Command-9 for the last tab.

    Give each window a useful name with Window → Rename Window…. Names return after relaunch. Command-W closes the active terminal view without ending its session; Shift-Command-W closes the whole window.

    Make the terminal yours

    Set fonts, colors, background opacity, and blur in Ghosthub's ownghostty.conf. Ghostty.app settings stay separate. You can also choose a theme for new tmux sessions in Settings.

Bring the tools you already use

Your tmux, Herdr, and Zellij sessions stay available from their own clients, even when Ghosthub is closed.
